I have been into metal detecting since my children were young, they are older now and not so keen on coming with me. I have found some great items from Roman, Celtic coins, rings, bits and bobs - too many to list. Where i live in Oxforshire there are some great places to get out and search with the metal detector, there is Sutton Courtney just up the road from me there have been lots of Roman finds there, Dorchester on Thames lots of Roman coins have been found there, and Abingdon where i live has an old abbey and a Roman past but as you know it is getting permission from farmers etc that is the hardest bit.
